We are moving!

…not for a while but its in the works! After ten years of working from a bedroom in her house, Lola finally found a studio!

It’s in the village of Shrule, not too far from where we are now. It needed ‘a little work’ but ticked all the boxes, box number one being more room! It had space out front to showcase our prints and paintings, a print room for Tomasa and her printer, a large store room and an even larger studio space out back. Once upon a time the building had belonged to Lola’s partner Trevor Mortimer’s grandparents, it had been a grocery and petrol pumps and their family had lived upstairs but it had changed hands a few times since then so when we pulled up the shutter back In May 2020 and spotted the tiled “Mortimer” we started to fall, then we spotted the mint green safe and were sold!

The studio

The greenery really added to the space

Out through the print room was a sizable courtyard space, a store room and then the entrance to what would eventually become the studio space. We loved the gorgeous rusty roof, the vaulted ceiling of the cottage which opened out onto a large barn area with a curved roof and a slanted lean to on the side. The greenery growing through every crack and crevice, combined with the steel, the wood, the corrugated roofs….we were sold.

If you build it they will come

The view from the back. Loads to do but manageable surely? The rose tinted glass weren’t long coming off!
